11-year-old reads to shelter dogs and cats to help them feel calmer

An 11-year-old Florida boy, Nehemiah Turner, has completed 100 hours of reading to rescue animals at the Jacksonville Humane Society. Through the shelter’s Pawsitive Reading programme, he spent two years reading books to dogs and cats waiting for adoption. Nehemiah became the first child to reach the milestone, earning recognition for helping comfort shelter animals and supporting their journey towards finding new homes.
