117 killed as storms lash UP with cyclone-like 130kmph winds

A severe thunderstorm and squall ravaged Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, claiming 117 lives and injuring 79. Violent storms, collapsing structures, and lightning strikes caused widespread destruction, with Prayagraj being the worst-hit district. High wind speeds, reaching nearly cyclonic levels, uprooted trees and damaged hundreds of houses and livestock.
