Pune-Mumbai Expressway ‘connecting link’ goes back to being ‘missing link’ for 18 hours after landslide

A major landslide on the Pune-Mumbai Missing Link caused an eighteen-hour traffic shutdown. Nearly one hundred tonnes of mud and rock fell onto the road near tunnel two. The incident occurred after rainfall three times the average in twenty-four hours. Officials are consulting IIT-Bombay for a technical assessment of the route. Public safety remains the highest priority for the MSRDC.
