Wife can’t be denied ‘stridhan’ just because she has no bills or receipts: Chhattisgarh HC

Chhattisgarh high court ruled a wife need not produce bills for stridhan. Husband’s appeal was dismissed regarding his wife’s stridhan articles. The court noted receipts are typically kept by the husband’s family after marriage. Absence of documents does not negate the wife’s claim for her belongings. The husband must return the stridhan or pay two lakh rupees.
