China conducts air, naval drills around disputed Scarborough Shoal in South China Sea

China’s military conducted joint air and naval drills near Scarborough Shoal. These exercises aimed to test combat readiness and safeguard territorial sovereignty. Separately, China announced new regulations for the Huangyan Island National Nature Reserve. The China Coast Guard will also increase patrols and law enforcement activities.
