‘Road to hell’: Fed up with potholes, Kanpur locals inaugurate ‘Yamraj’s Gate’

Kanpur residents protested rain-damaged roads by symbolically renaming a street Yamraj ka Dwar. They highlighted numerous waterlogged potholes and blamed Nagar Nigam for the difficulties. Traders also reported business suffering due to dilapidated roads and potholes in the city. A deep pothole on Sariya VIP Road led to a legislator’s protest. The legislator entered the pothole until responsible officials arrived to assess the situation.
