The Uttarakhand state consumer commission found the bus conductor negligent for losing a passenger’s suitcase. The passenger filed a complaint after his suitcase went missing on a Delhi-Dehradun bus journey in 2015. Initially awarded Rs 57,500, the compensation was reduced to Rs 25,000 when the passenger failed to prove actual costs. The transport corporation must pay Rs 43,000 in total compensation and litigation charges.
