Madonna’s charity, Raising Malawi, has established the Mercy James Centre for Paediatric Surgery and Intensive Care in Malawi. This facility performs over 2,000 life-saving surgeries each year at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital. The centre not only conducts surgeries but also serves as a training site for local medical professionals. Raising Malawi is currently raising funds to expand services and hire more specialist staff.
