Connecticut’s eelgrass shrank 90%; volunteers now plant seeds on clams

In a creative effort to restore the eelgrass meadows of Long Island Sound, volunteers in Connecticut have adopted an innovative technique. Although early results show higher eelgrass coverage, there are ongoing concerns about long-term resilience. This initiative is a prime example of community-driven, nature-based environmental restoration strategies.
