Newlywed found hanging in Lucknow; family alleges torture over dowry, car demand

A 28-year-old newlywed woman was found dead at her in-laws’ home in Lucknow, six months after her marriage. Her family alleges dowry harassment and demands for a car led to her death. Police have detained the husband and father-in-law for questioning as an investigation into suicide or dowry-related violence is underway.
