After layoffs and robot push, GM brings back Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

General Motors is bringing back Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in its vehicles. This reversal follows the automaker’s earlier decision to phase out these popular smartphone features. The new infotainment system will debut in the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra models. Customer demand and feedback significantly influenced this change in direction. GM’s system will integrate these features while retaining its own built-in Google applications.
