Amazon fails to refund mattress order; commission orders Rs 10,000 payout

A Himachal Pradesh consumer commission ordered Amazon to refund Rs 8,819. The e-commerce giant also must pay Rs 10,000 for compensation and costs. A customer’s mattress order was cancelled, but the refund was not processed. The product was returned to the seller after cancellation by the courier. Amazon failed to appear and was proceeded against ex-parte by the commission.
