Birthday celebration ruined; restaurant ordered to pay Rs 50,000 compensation

A Thiruvananthapuram restaurant has been ordered to pay Rs 50,000 to a customer whose daughter’s first birthday party was marred by poor service and stale food. The district consumer commission found the restaurant’s manager and managing director jointly liable for deficiency in service, citing unrebutted allegations of empty food containers, absent staff, and complaints about the quality of dishes served.
