Centre weighs 200% increase in foreign investment approval threshold

India’s government is considering raising the foreign investment approval threshold significantly. This move aims to attract larger overseas investments and simplify the process. The current Rs 5,000 crore limit has been in place since 2015. Changes to downstream investment rules are also being explored to facilitate capital. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to boost economic growth.
