Clashes break out at Jamia protest, campus shut, classes go online

Jamia Millia Islamia has opted for an online class format and closed its physical campus amid escalating student protests. Demonstrators are campaigning for the reinstatement of their student union, which has been non-existent since 2006. Tensions soared when security forces reportedly used aggression against hunger strikers. The administration has asked students to halt protests, following unsuccessful dialogue attempts, with the campus remaining shut for safety.
