Cognizant TN headcount down by 10,000; hiring shifts to emerging cities

Cognizant’s Tamil Nadu delivery center headcount has dropped by 10,000 employees as hiring shifts to cities like Indore and Bhubaneswar. While Chennai remains its largest Indian hub, the company is expanding in Visakhapatnam, investing Rs 1,583 crore to create over 8,000 jobs. This reduction in Tamil Nadu could become a political issue ahead of state elections.
