Collector found rare Eisenhower dollar in coin tube; it later sold for $264,000

A fascinating discovery has emerged, as a rare 1971 Eisenhower dollar prototype coin is set to hit the auction block once more. Found tucked away in an inconspicuous tube of standard coins, this remarkable piece is one of only three surviving prototypes from the United States Mint’s inaugural space-themed dollar.
