Dalit woman ‘denied’ hospital admission over caste, gives birth by UP roadside

A 20-year-old woman from the Dalit Mushar community faced denial of admission at a government hospital in Uttar Pradesh. After being refused care due to her caste, she gave birth on the roadside with family assistance. The incident prompted immediate disciplinary action against the medical staff involved in her case. A four-member inquiry panel found negligence from multiple hospital personnel regarding her treatment.
