Delhi building collapse: Owner knew base was weak, built 4 additional floors, say cops

Delhi Police apprehended the labour contractor supervising the collapsed student hostel. The building owner allegedly added extra floors, compromising its foundation’s stability. Mahesh Gupta managed the accommodation for his parents, Hariram and Urmila. The building was leased to PG operator Hostel Daze in August 2025. Soil samples were collected for forensic examination to determine foundation weakness.
