Delhi Gymkhana Club challenges Centre’s eviction proceedings in HC, plea listed for July 6

The Delhi Gymkhana Club and its staff are challenging the government’s eviction notice in the Delhi High Court. The Centre initiated proceedings after terminating the club’s perpetual lease, deeming its continued occupation of the 27.3-acre Lutyens’ Delhi property an “unauthorised occupation.” The government claims the land is needed for defence and public-interest projects, but the club contests the termination and eviction order.
