Diabetes impacts men, women differently: Study

Type 2 diabetes affects men and women with different health risks. Women face greater mental health challenges after diagnosis, while men experience more heart and kidney issues. Hypertension is a common complication for both sexes following diabetes. People developing mental health conditions after diabetes tend to die earlier. The study suggests sex-specific diabetes care and monitoring are needed.
