‘Don’t make them run from pillar to post’: FM Sitharaman asks income tax dept to work for common people

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman urged income tax officials to simplify citizen access to government services. She emphasized that citizens should not face undue difficulties when seeking departmental assistance. The minister also criticized the laidback approach leading to government land encroachments. She promised to address the housing needs of income tax officers in Mumbai. Sitharaman stressed the importance of honesty and integrity in tax administration.
