France steps in to protect Saudi oil infrastructure as Houthi attacks intensify

France’s military support to Saudi Arabia will involve deploying troops and defense systems to protect key energy infrastructure. The deployment follows repeated Houthi attacks on Saudi oil facilities and aims to secure the Red Sea port of Yanbu. French official Jean-Noel Barrot emphasized that France’s role is strictly defensive and does not equate to participation in the conflict.
