FSSAI pulls up alcohol makers over misleading ‘aged’ claims, flavour violations

India’s food safety regulator has taken action against alcohol manufacturers by issuing notices regarding the use of unauthorized flavors in their drinks. Additionally, misleading age claims on product packaging are being investigated. Companies are required to justify why regulatory action shouldn’t be enforced against them. Meetings with industry associations and FSSAI are scheduled for next week to discuss these pressing issues.
