‘I was fifteen and riveted’: What Steve Jobs said that hooked a young Michael Dell

In his memoir Play Nice But Win, Michael Dell recalls meeting Steve Jobs in the spring of 1980 at a Houston computer user group, aged just fifteen. Jobs, then 25 and weeks from Apple’s IPO, spoke about personal computers revolutionising the world. Dell writes he was riveted, and could not have imagined that in five years, Steve Jobs and he would be colleagues and friends, long before their famous Apple rivalry.
