In 1929, fisherman built wooden boat by family home; now $1.5m may restore it

A wooden fishing boat built in 1929 is nearing restoration on Martha’s Vineyard, almost a century after it was built beside the home of a family raising 13 children. Little Lady, the sole remaining wooden fishing dragger in New England, is set to undergo major repairs. The $1.5 million project still needs $630,000, while supporters hope to preserve the boat’s history and connection to the island’s fishing community.
