India is second-largest sailor supplier in world

India now ranks as the world’s second-largest supplier of seafaring personnel. This significant achievement is highlighted in the BIMCO-ICS Seafarer Workforce Report 2026. The report indicates India’s share of global sailors has doubled over the past five years. Indian officers comprise thirteen point four percent of the world’s officer workforce. This growth positions India strongly within the global maritime industry.
