India may ramp up development aid for Africa

India is set to significantly enhance its economic and development cooperation with Africa, hosting the 4th India-Africa summit after an 11-year hiatus. The government plans to announce major initiatives for development assistance, building on previous commitments of $10 billion in credit and $600 million in grants. The summit will see participation from over 40 heads of state and government.
