India’s derivatives market gets a Gen Z makeover, but losses pile up: Sebi

Recent trends indicate that traders aged under thirty now make up an impressive forty-three percent of all participants in the derivatives sector. Interestingly, individuals earning less than five lakh rupees a year are leading the market’s activities. Moreover, there has been a notable rise in investors from smaller towns engaging in derivatives trading. A significant portion of these traders entered the market without prior investments in cash equities.
