Jammu and Kashmir: High court quashes PSA detention of Shopian man for ‘showing anti-national tendencies’

Jammu & Kashmir high court has quashed the preventive detention of Mashooq Ahmad Shah under the Public Safety Act. The court found the allegations against him to be vague and lacking necessary details. Justice Rajnesh Oswal ruled that his detention violated constitutional guarantees under Article 22(5). Shah had been accused of anti-national activities without sufficient evidence. Consequently, the court directed his immediate release if not wanted in other cases.
