Johnson & Johnson announces its entry into the US robotic surgery market

Johnson & Johnson secured FDA approval for its Ottava robotic surgical system. This authorization allows entry into the growing soft-tissue robotic surgery market. The system is approved for several general surgery procedures in the upper abdomen. Ottava features a smaller operating room footprint compared to existing systems. The company aims to challenge Intuitive Surgical’s dominance in this field.
