JPMorgan made 40% AI job cuts in some teams, but CEO is not ‘convinced’ of its results

JPMorgan Chase has reduced some jobs by up to forty percent using artificial intelligence. CEO Jamie Dimon believes AI offers no unique competitive advantage for the bank. He stated that AI will not significantly increase the bank’s profit margins. The bank is increasing recruitment for AI-related roles while hiring fewer bankers. JPMorgan Chase reported strong net income and investment banking fees for the second quarter.
