Karnataka high court orders Rs 1 lakh fine on police official for kicking a lawyer

The High Court has sent a strong message regarding transparency in law enforcement by rejecting a Karnataka Sub-Inspector’s request to dismiss an FIR over her purported assault on a lawyer. Not only was her plea dismissed, but she was also slapped with a Rs 1 lakh fine for withholding a previous court order that mandated the filing of the FIR.
