Eight people, including seven trekkers and their guide, remain missing in Uttarkashi’s Kedartal region three days after an avalanche blocked their return route. Two helicopter sorties on Sunday failed to spot the group or their tents, as heavy snowfall and fresh avalanche threats hamper operations. Another SDRF mountaineering team has been deployed with specialised equipment. The trekking agency claims rescue began late, while its own team turned back a kilometre short of the tent.
