Man’s $899K bet on Nantucket cliff cottage: Still standing 5 years later

Massachusetts car dealer Charles Fotopoulos bought a 1951 Nantucket cottage for $899,000 in 2021, knowing coastal erosion posed a serious risk. He said he would be satisfied if the property lasted five years. Five years later, the home remains standing, but only a few feet separate it from a 40-foot drop to the beach below, as erosion continues.
