MHA revises foreigner registration rules, mandates registration before 180-day deadline

New rules mandate foreign nationals register within 180 days of arrival to extend their stay, with late registrations only allowed in emergencies. Children with an Indian parent are exempt, but foreign citizenship acquisition must be reported within 30 days. A digital appeals process and 24-hour reporting window are also introduced.
