Monetisation of assets helps NHAI pare debt

The National Highways Authority of India has prepaid over Rs 1.2 lakh crore in loans. This accelerated asset monetisation has reduced its overall debt significantly. The authority has not borrowed directly from the market since 2022. Asset monetisation hit a record high of Rs 41,079 crore in the last fiscal year. NHAI aims to raise Rs 30,000 crore from monetising projects this year.
