NBFCs’ share of incremental bank credit doubles to 14%

Bank credit surged in FY26, primarily fueled by services and retail sectors. Non-food credit saw a substantial Rs 29.2 lakh crore expansion, with lending to NBFCs, housing, and gold-backed loans leading the charge. Services and personal loans together formed over two-thirds of this growth, highlighting robust demand in these areas.
