‘No ban but also not 24×7’: SC on firecrackers in Delhi-NCR ahead of Diwali

The Supreme Court has ruled out an outright ban on firecrackers in Delhi-NCR, aiming instead for a compromise between health and cultural practices. Fireworks will only be allowed during specific times, with an emphasis on using environmentally friendly options that satisfy rigorous safety standards by licensed producers. The matter regarding barium in firecrackers will be further examined on October 15.
