No internet needed: PhonePe brings UPI payments to over 200m feature phone users

PhonePe has launched UPI 123Pay, enabling feature phone users to transact digitally. This service extends UPI payment capabilities to over two hundred million Indian feature phone users. The platform allows peer-to-peer and peer-to-merchant payments, and balance checks. It also offers an AI-powered helpline for first-time users in multiple languages. Future updates will introduce utility bill payments and mobile recharges.
