Padma Shri ‘Badi Didi’ who brought schools to 570 Bastar villages

For over four decades, Dr. Budhri Tati has tirelessly worked in the isolated villages of Bastar, where she became a beacon of hope for tribal girls pursuing education and women’s autonomy. Through the establishment of residential hostels, she has transformed the lives of numerous girls who now have access to education. Her holistic approach to women’s health and economic independence earned her the esteemed Padma Shri award in 2026.
