Palantir cofounder Joe Lonsdale calls Trump’s $5,000 checks ‘bread and circus bribes’

Palantir cofounder Joe Lonsdale has slammed Donald Trump’s proposed $5,000 dividend, calling the checks for every adult American “bread and circus bribes” in a post on X. The Republican donor said he wants the GOP to win the November midterm elections but opposes the payout, which would cost about $1.2 trillion. Other Republicans, including Representative Ralph Norman, have questioned how the US would fund it amid a $40 trillion debt.
