Punjab DA case: HC asks chief secretary why criminal contempt proceedings shouldn’t begin

Punjab’s Chief Secretary, KAP Sinha, faces a contempt notice for allegedly providing misleading statements about the pending dearness allowance. The Punjab and Haryana High Court is scrutinizing his assertions regarding the resolution of issues related to the state’s appeal in the Supreme Court. Previously, the court ordered the government to settle overdue dearness allowance for both employees and pensioners.
