‘Ready to sit and talk with them’: Karnataka CM Shivakumar on Mekedatu dam row with Tamil Nadu

Karnataka chief minister DK Shivakumar has expressed readiness to discuss the proposed Mekedatu dam project with Tamil Nadu, emphasizing it will benefit both states. He stated the project, aimed at providing drinking water to Bengaluru and generating power, will not affect Tamil Nadu’s allocated Cauvery water share. Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have had a long-standing dispute over the Cauvery river.
