Rs 2.61 crore in online games, Rs 28 lakh loss; but taxman seeks tax on Rs 2.33 crore

The ITAT Bangalore held that, in the circumstances of this case, the amount that could be brought to tax was the actual net winnings from online gaming, rather than gross credits appearing in a player’s wallet or amounts shown as winnings at different stages of the gameplay.
