Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff says AI coding agents have made the company’s 15,000 engineers over 30% more productive—and that’s exactly why Salesforce didn’t hire a single new engineer in fiscal year 2026. Speaking on The Future Live, Benioff said engineers are shifting from writing code to supervising AI agents. He also revealed AI now handles up to 50% of Salesforce’s total workload, as the company doubles down on what Benioff calls the “digital labor revolution.”
