Salman Rushdie stabbing: Attacker convicted on Hezbollah support, terror charges

A US man already serving a lengthy sentence was convicted on new federal charges. He was found guilty of providing material support to the militant group Hezbollah. Prosecutors linked his actions to a 1989 fatwa and a later speech. The author Salman Rushdie testified during the federal trial about the attack. This conviction adds to his existing sentence for attempted murder.
