Slithering snakes, lakhs on the run: Twin typhoons batter China; scary visuals emerge

Chinese authorities evacuated over 900,000 people ahead of Typhoon Bavi’s expected landfall. The storm is forecast to hit Wenzhou after affecting Taiwan and Japan’s islands. Taiwan evacuated 14,000 people and faced widespread power outages and flight cancellations. Japan’s southwestern islands also experienced significant power disruptions and flight cancellations. The Philippines reported 18 deaths due to heavy rains intensified by the typhoon.
