State MSP bonuses fuelling excess rice procurement, warns CACP

Excessive rice stocks have accumulated in the central pool, nearly 4.4 times higher than stocking norms, due to states offering bonuses over MSP and an open-ended procurement policy. CACP recommends limiting procurement, especially in surplus states, and reviewing the open-ended policy to curb rising subsidy burdens.
