Suchika Tariyal scripts history, assures India of first Asian Games medal

Suchika Tariyal secured India’s first medal at the Asian Games on Sunday. She defeated Mongolia’s Altanchimeg Baigalmaa in the women’s Traditional Mixed Martial Arts 60kg quarterfinal. Tariyal’s progression into the semifinals guarantees India a medal in MMA’s debut. She previously represented India in judo and kurash and became a Jiu-Jitsu world champion. Her journey includes overcoming challenges and a knee injury to reach this achievement.
